mid year review
kinda like one month too late mid year review. dah basi. but this blog needs an update. you know, keeping up with whats hot and whats not. not that im a trend setter nor famous. just that, its kinda lame if i have a blog and not doing anything about it.
it has been 6 months since i came back to malaysia for good. it was not that easy to leave states in the first place. it took me 2 months to convince myself to pack all my belongings and come back.
the life there was good. not excellent. not bad. just good. no worries. everything just in order. work. home. work. makan. shopping. hiburan. work. work. and makan. and it was simple too. i didnt really care whats going on with their government as it doesnt really affected me that much anyway. the gas prices? i didnt own a car when i was in san francisco. the public transportation was terbaik. easy. basically it was an easy life. everthing in a hop on. hop off.
and i could have waited longer and keep looking for A job. i had my H1-B visa (working permit in US). still am and most of my friends try to talk me out from leaving states using the same reason. my H1-B visa. see, it wasnt an easy task to get a working permit in states. you need to appoint a lawyer. and you must be sponsored by your company. then the fees was not that cheap. high 4 figures weh. on top of that, they only approves 65 000 working visas per fiscal year. compare to 450 000++ applicants per year. yeah. that number of applicants is PER YEAR. they only start taking applications on the april 1st. on my application date, they received 250 000 applications. that is just for the first day. and another 200 000++ the next day. on the third day, they closed their door. yup, they only open for application for only 2 days per year. so as you can see, they only approves around 15% or less visas per year. i was freaking lucky man. for an employee in such a small company, i was EFFING lucky. there were also people who works in bigger software company didnt get their working permit. and now, the number of applicants getting bigger, but the limit is still at 65 000 visas per year. hehs. giler la. i feel like im too cool for school la. like..yeah..ada visa, but whatever weh. visa shmiza...i'm going back. woohoo!
well, even with some good reasons not to go home, i still came back. A LOT of things have gone through this pass 6 months. seriously banyak. tak tau nak start dari mana. they are all fun. i dont think it fits in one post. (now i start regretting not to write more posts....man...).
the mid year review (malas nak elaborate):
the job - giler rocks my socks la kan. no complains.
the weather - i LOVE the sun.
the food - not a picky. ever.
the entertainment - not really happy with the movie choices in theater, but make up with some other activities. pulau2. melepak tak tentu hala. 'hiburan di hujung minggu'.
the social scene - KL is becoming much much smaller than i remember.
the only thing i can whine about is....shoes. its freaking hard to find a good pair of shoes in KL. if there's a pair yang awesome and i didnt buy it on the first catch, it would be out of my size on the second visit. macam lanch.
but other than that
IT IS AWESOME TO BE BACK IN KL!
*i guess, i needed that 5 years break from KL just so i know how awesome KL really is.
